Decent range of beers. My only complaint, and this is a serious issue for me and many others I know, is intrusive inane muzak. Turn it off. If I want to hear this drivel I'll tune in to Heart Radio. It is for the staff not the customers. But so many establishments just don't get it do they. nowindmills - 21 Sep 2013 19:49 |
I always enjoy my visits to this pub. It has several drinking areas and is always well maintained and clean. A very good selection of real ales is always available. They have large screens showing the sky sport but they are normally sound turned down so they are not intrusive. A real cross section of people in here and also all the age groups. Never had any problems with the landlord, landlady or staff that other contributors mention. Makes a good pub crawl if combined with the Duke of Wellington, Fat Cat (Cider Shed), Earl of Roseberry and a little further into the city, the Cottage on Silver Road. fcsete34 - 26 Sep 2012 19:37 |
nice selection of ales but the new owners are up themselves.. 5/10 strawdog - 3 Oct 2010 17:07 |
Had an extremely quick half in this pub, before heading to the Cider Shed. Adnams Bitter, Broadland Best, Youngs, Fullers London Pride, Daleside Summer Delight, Oakham Bishops Farewell & JHB and Woodfordes Wherry were the 8 real ales available, all displayed on a blackboard. Unfortunately, there were no real ciders. The drinking environment seemed quite comfortable with a few separate areas. We sat in a conservatory area. I have to admit to remembering little else, due to my earlier excesses in the Fat Cat! blue_scrumpy - 1 Aug 2010 14:40 |
