Decent bar in a hotel, in an area without too many other options pretty much sums it up. But it does have McEwans Export and Deuchars IPA as well as Carlsberg. Tartan carpets, naturally! Bronxrichie - 13 Jan 2012 01:54 |
Decent bar in a hotel. Now the gillsland/orwell have shut it's the only bar in the area between polwarth and craiglockhart on the 27 bus route. Nice food, was getting pricier though, and the beer isn't exactly varied, hmm carlsberg or.. carlsberg export. Has other bars apart from the main bar but only open for weddings/functions/big days etc. Now it sounds like i don't like the place but i do, it's kiddy friendly, the staff are helpful and the clientele are an unmenacing bunch of locals/guests. I used to be in weekly but have since moved... grahamo - 17 Aug 2010 23:15 |
Just noticed The cask mark. It's a joke for this place right? It has got real ale which is ok but it aint that good a pub.In Edinburgh the Cask Mark should definately go to Diggers, Ryries, Bow Bar, Bennetts and The roseburn Bar. The Ettrich couldn't hols acandle to their inherint quality at all levels. Betty Ford - 21 Oct 2004 13:22 |
Slow service by staff whom could not care less bar sweat all over counter. When we last went to watch Scotland play manager chose to use big tv room for England game and we TV's in bar for Scotland. To be avoided unless you are aregular as that is the only way to be served promptlt and courteously. It was so much better as a private hotel. Go under duress. Betty Ford - 21 Oct 2004 11:30 |
