Taken over by the current licensees in 1989, it looks like it was decorated then but not since. Old fashioned but not shabby. The welcome was the friendliest we received in Norfolk and the sheer number of diners (of a certain age) shows that they must be doing something correctly here. I had a pint of perfectly chilled Lighthouse Bitter (whatever it really is) rather the Greene King IPA. The landlord is obviously very proud of his Cask Marque certificates as one of the walls is festooned with them.

I'm not sure why this pub is in the CAMRA guide. Two real ales plus two guests are supposed to be on the bar. Only Tolly Cobbold T.E.A. was available and at 3.20 for a 2.8% ABV beer was a bit steep.
I asked why only one beer? The barman said it was a slack time of year. What? In September?
The food is pricey as well. Nearly 10 for ham or cheese ploughman's is the cheapest main meal.

We stopped in here two or three times during our recent trip to Norfolk, wonderful place, landlord was very accommodating, food was expensive but delicious. Beer was nice too.

Ate here on monday night. Place was doing a good trade. 2 real ales on offer - London Glory and a Green King "guest". Beer was 3.40, a bit pricey and although you're asked to leave a credit card behind the bar to open a tab you do get your own key as it's locked in a safe! Very unusual. Food was very nice. I chose the steak and kidney pie - a proper pie, not a stew in a dish. This was available in a generous portion (as an option) for around 11.95. Very pricey but you should have seen the size of it.
The pub has the feel of a clubhouse, surrounded by caravans at the rear. This is ok by me but it put my wife off as it didn't have a cosy feel. Disappointed with the beer choice overall but impressed by the enthusiasm of the landlord who has been here for over 20 years.

Nice pub with friendly staff, nice drop of their "own" ale called.....lighthouse ale. Family friendly. Now....the food was "nice" and freshly made in house using local produce but it was way over priced which put us off going back again. 8 out of 10 for beer and staff but 5 out of 10 for overpriced food.
