Friendly pub in a country village a few miles west of Salisbury. Had Badger Best and Tanglefoot when I visited both very drinkable. andrewh - 6 May 2011 08:38 |
8 of us went for Sunday lunch; the food was really very poor. Everything overcooked or oily, salad limp and browning. The choice was limited and that which was on offer seemed a bridge too far for the kitchen. Staff - fantastic, couldn't be more helpful. Shame they had to be bringing such poor offerings to our table! 552051 - 11 Oct 2010 18:57 |
This pub is well worth a visit. It is clean with a welcoming atmosphere. The food is excellent both in quality and quantity, with a good varied selection. The Publican is charming and the staff eager to please. Lovely old world feeling, highly recommended star7 - 5 Feb 2010 14:54 |
I have to agree with the previous poster. Unwelcoming, no atmospher. Disinterested landlord. Add the that 3.30 for a pint of Hopping Hare (although it was a decent pint, to be fair) and you have somewhere not worth stopping at. When I asked the landlord why it was so expensive he told me it was because Hare is very strong (it's only 4.5%abv, btw). I can't be bothered to go back, and there are other, cheaper pubs not too far away. ETA - 27 Apr 2009 09:10 |
bit out of our way but have to report that when we popped in the atmosphere was really poor - unfriendly - do not think we would bother again! beer is not well kept and everyone looked so unhappy. odd place. fourforestfriends - 12 Mar 2009 20:44 |
