| A lot has changed since last reviews.. massive refurbishments, very contemporary.. if you like carpets, snugs and darts boards you'll be disappointed... However, lovely staff, very dog friendly, and food and beer to die for... Woodford Wherry and a Humpty Dumpty ale, plus Norfolk Adder cider. | Checked out this very pleasant pub for a quick drink between a country walk and lunch with local friends. Asked how bitter the local beer (Wherry) was (I prefer ale to bitter) and another customer said it was bitter. Rather than plump for the Abbot I tentatively ordered the Suffolk cider and the barman offered me a taste first. Nice touches included free nibbles on the bar and newspapers to read on the comfy sofas; elegant tables and chairs and jasmine in the beer garden; and themed decoration in the toilets, but without losing the relaxed feel of a friendly pub which serves food (prices looked reasonable). helenphill - 10 Jul 2006 14:28 |
