| Still as good in 2015... When we arrived on Sat 23rd May they had a maypole and were crowing the May queen - What a fantastic place to watch this ancient ceremony. Beers were St. Austell Cornish Bitter, HSD & Tribute, with Kerov lager and Healy's Rattler cider. Food and drink is on the more expensive side, but it's just so nice to escape the Mousehole crowds... | I stayed for a week with my family in Trungle cottage, 2 minutes or so from The Kings Arms, so frequented this pub a few times over the course of the week... It is a St.Austell brewery house, and was serving Dartmoor Best, Tribute and HSD, along with Apple and Pear Rattler and Korev Lager. Pub is split across two main rooms, both have bar areas, and both have dining, however children are only allowed in the room across from the church. Overall I would recommend this pub; It gets a mixture of locals and holidaymakers, a lot who walk up from Mousehole which is only 10 minutes or so walk down a steep hill. Strangely, Mousehole only has the one pub, The Ship inn, but feels like it should have more... Beer was good, food also good and both moderately priced. Check out the Dolly Pentreath monument in Paul churchyard, and also listen out for the Mousehole male voice choir who practise in the church monday evenings. | I was recommended this pub by some friends who visited there last year. The pub looks from the outside looks what every traditional village pub should look like, and the inside is very cosy. My friends recommended the homemade curry which I found to be very good for a pub curry. The beer was excellent especially the HSD. I would recommend this pub as I found the staff courteous and helpful even to the point that because we have a dog, we normally sit outside in the garden but they said we could come inside and eat with the dog, providing he was well behaved which he is. Food prices run off the mill, not the cheapest but definately not the dearest compared to surban London/Kent.
