First time in here and being a warm day I though it’s a safe bet with Thatchers Gold. First pint £4.10 Second pint 3.80 Third pint £3.70 All served in beer glasses and flat with no life whatsoever. I asked if they had Thatchers glasses but was told they’re still warm after being washed! TalbotHill - 3 Jul 2018 16:32 |
Had to try again,i did not think it could get worse but alas i was proved wrong.ABSOLUTLEY TERRIBLE!!!!The beer they had on was passable(tribute a good beer when kept well)but the tables where sticky and surly staff who appeared to be more interested in texting than the customer.Someone from St Austell should do a spot check to see how bad it can be. mattjc - 1 Jun 2010 16:38 |
WORST PUB IN WADEBRIDGE,DON'T BOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mattjc - 19 Aug 2009 11:34 |
Simply awful. I've never reviewed a hotel before but felt compelled to after our stay. Stayed the night here with my girlfriend and her brother on a cycle ride from Lands End to John O'Groats. Turned up after day of cycling and told to put our bikes in the rubbish bin area. While still locking our bikes up in this stinking area, a staff came out of the fire exit and started throwing rubbish down into the bins. He then proudly told us he would be cooking us breakfast in the morning. Scruffy room and awful shower (which I have to admit we didn't complain about because we were just too knackered after our cycle ride). Very loud Karaoke in the bar and exceptionally surly landlady who sneered when I came down to double check that it would be finished by 11pm (as it was incredibly loud). Finished by the worst cooked breakfast I've ever had in the morning. Glad to get away from this place. And it was the most expensive on our whole trip, even though we had to share a room. thomasn - 6 Jul 2009 14:31 |
One can only speak as one finds, I ate here a couple of times and the food was well cooked and well presented. The beers were in satisfactory condition and the bar staff helpful and pleasant. Maybe it was because it was early evening or perhaps I just got lucky, but there was no evidence of the sort of despicable behaviour others have mentioned although there was a pathetic Karaoke evening about to take place. To be on the safe side I would only use this pub in the early evening. doctorpint - 1 Aug 2008 16:43 |
