Bit of a gem this one.... you'd think the fact its on a superceded road to nowhere would affect trade but it was very busy. Four ales on - including Bass in fine condition. No nonsense sandwich menu. Great value for money. Loved it. Visit blogged at: http://bit.ly/2FlGc2X Mappiman - 27 Apr 2018 20:23 |
It sells Mild in a pub with a good ambience! What else would one want from a pub? PhilT4Mild - 12 Apr 2015 13:48 |
Used to drink here when staying at the nearby turf farm. Was pretty well OK then and sounds fine now. Worth another call, I'd say. eddybeer - 1 Mar 2013 18:03 |
I really like this place, but not sure why! Guest beers are regularly updated and are always in good condition. Usually fairly busy but no problem getting served. This pub is in a great location for walking and a board opposite the entrance shows a few circular routes; the Heart of England Way and the Coventry Way both go right past. We've never eaten here (as the the menu is a bit basic) but upstairs, served by a separate entrance, is an excellent Thai restaurant where the drinks orders are served from the QH bar below. 8/10 TazzyBoy - 19 May 2010 12:32 |
Used to frequent this pub when I lived in the area (Pickford). Always found it to be a really friendly place & the beer was always in top notch condition. Being a Londoner, it was joy to find that pubs like this one still existed! churchyboy - 2 Dec 2008 16:48 |
