Popped in here a couple of times just before christmas. Was expecting more of a soulless gastro pub from reading previous reviews but the bar area at the front actually feels like a proper pub, atleast on a Friday night. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the real ales - had an excellent pint of Jospeh Holt 'Maple Moon'. undeaded - 28 Jan 2015 18:12 |
A bit more restaurant-y for my liking, but plenty of clienele enjoying a drink as well. Beer is good, and the decor is tasteful (although we sat outside in the beautiful weather). jjsint - 7 Aug 2012 12:29 |
Tries so hard to be good, deserves to be ok, it isn’t. Very expensive, staff very pleasant but not very efficient, food pretentious yet still manages to be bland and poorly presented. Lots of people who think rather to much of themselves – cheap suits and shiny faces. Hard to walk to or from, no real entertainment, stop for a pint but don’t plan to stay. biggingerdude - 2 Jul 2008 15:16 |
Food is ordinary and uncared for - the camembert was tasteless, the sausage and mash had an inappropriate sauce and the apple pie was a disgrace. Service was very good, beer is mostly fizz Nanook99 - 27 Jul 2007 20:50 |
Had a fantastic meal last night. They seem to have improved the quality of the food and service no end and have bought back daily specials. I tried the rendered duck with vodka and black cherry sauce. Yummy. Will return with friends. FOODYBOY - 8 Nov 2006 15:44 |
