The Napoleon is at the top end of Boscombe and was our favourite out of the two we tried. It's in a quiet area. But the pub has three rooms with lots of character. Toilets are outdoors in the corridor that separates the rooms. It's a St Austell house. So Tribute, Cornish Best & HSD were the ales. We decided to have dinner here, which was ok and reasonably priced. Dogs are welcomed and one nearly manage to get to my Sunday roast. But it was just a few centimetres beyond the end of his/her leash! A traditional boozer that is worth seeking out. blue_scrumpy - 30 Jan 2017 21:30 |
Back in Cornwall again for a family holiday and a new record; a beer in my hand within half an hour of arrival! This particular beer was served up at the Napoleon Inn and the lady wife and I sat in the sunny beer garden overlooking what would be a lovely view if not for the house opposite. The service was friendly and the locals pleasant and chatty. We booked a table for the evening and were not disappointed, the food was terrific and reasonably priced. in fact we kept going back and always enjoyed the experience although on one night I would have preferred not to have a live singer taking up most of the bar with her organ. This is,however, a minor complaint. Dartmoor, Tribute and HSD were served straight from the cask and in decent condition. doctorpint - 3 Aug 2012 19:02 |
Friendly pub with a good menu. We ate here three times during a recent stay in Boscastle and the food was always excellent, especially the pheasant terrine. Recommended. aliandg - 31 Jul 2011 16:43 |
Quiet, even on a sunny April lunchtime probably due to its location away from the lower village and harbour (and tourists). Tribute and HSD on gravity plus Cornish Rattler cider. Tried the HSD which was in OK condition. Meals were well priced and we enjoyed eating out in the pub's beer garden which has good views over the surrounding countryside. If they knocked down the house the other side of the car park the view would be even better. The pub building itself is interesting and worth a look around. brianagain - 9 Apr 2011 09:42 |
Fantastic service, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Amazing decor and great beer. Good music and an all round fantatic place would definatly recomend it for anyone who likes to relax and have a good pint or two. Overall a great pub in the lovely settlement of Boscastle.
