Another difficult pub to rate. Owned by a big "cheese" but run by a succession of tenants this is not a bad pub - if you like wall-to-wall TVs. Caters for the chimney pots nearby ( of which there are many and especially as the Severn Stars nearby churned out it's drinkers after being "suddenly" closed last xmas). Very recently repainted inside (not refurbished) it's pleasant but can get a bit rowdy especially as it's en route to the football club (and back). Beers are really well kept and tend to be of a more national take rather than local with some interesting varieties. Beer garden is a bit like being in an extremely small exercise ground inside Colditz and is in reality a fag-break area. Not everyone's cup of tea but somehow it work. Murivance - 1 Oct 2016 18:57 |
Nicely refurbished. Good for a pint on the way to the New Meadow. dpaajones - 4 May 2012 15:28 |
Great pub. Really nice, clean refurbed pub. They do have Ales now, 3 of them. Watched some of the world cup there, 7 massive tellies 1 outside - great place to watch sports! Great dart board and pool table. Really good all-round pub with good friendly staff! Cant fault it! daveyjones68 - 19 Jul 2010 11:28 |
Called in here last night. Walked past the cask marque sign and the advert for real ale. Two handpumps, no real ale. The bar staff must have changed somewhat in the last few years, judging by the comments from 2005, as I didn't fancy the grey bearded guy behind the bar at all. Didn't stay for a pint, no real beer = no pint for me, especially as there were only about 3 people in the bar. Not impressed on this visit, may try again in a few weeks.
