Nice enough pub for a drink especially on a summers evening but although i'm not usually a moaner I feel i have to comment on the appaling roast dinner I recently experienced there.Cold and hard vegetables, brown water for gravy and the toughest gristliest beef I have ever encountered.Shall still drink there but will have my sunday roast elsewhere. wurzel - 10 May 2017 11:46 |
Great location. Four casks including Piddle Forest Bitter sold as the house beer. Pub menu, not too pricy. Service varies. Some staff are rude, others are friendly and helpful. SilkTork - 13 Apr 2017 13:03 |
Good beer from the Piddle brewery but bar staff service was erratic. Attitude when trying to book a table in the bar area was downright rude when told we cn book a table and then told we couldn't 'cos it was school holiday time. Also heard someone ask for the all day breakfast only to be told they couldn't have it cos' they were too busy. Decided against eating there. addlened - 10 Apr 2015 17:55 |
This deserves much better than its "4.4/10" rating. The beer is good, with a fairly good range and they give 10% discount to card-carrying CAMRA members. The food portions are enormous and are both good and good value. (And the loos were spotless.) It looks out over the Old Harbour with an excellent view. I feel that a 7/10 is a more accurate rating.
