Still very much an older crowd of locals and passers by especially in the summer Bar staff are slightly eccentric in my opinion but harmless Lots of real ales and being Dorset has a fair selection of ciders on tap and in barrels Home to a scooter club so often a selection of vintage lamberettas are seen outside Hard to find but you’ll like what you see and guzzle wooser - 3 Jul 2024 17:40 |
When the heavens opened on Jubilee Friday, we sought refuge in the Globe as none of the pubs on the quayside appealed. Quantock QPA, Fine Tuned Langport Bitter, St Austell Proper Job, Black Sheep Monty Python's Holy Grail and Dartmoor Jail Ale were the handpulls; the Jail was in fine order so we stopped for a couple. A good find. paul_d102 - 18 Jun 2022 10:16 |

Excellent back street local. Were made to feel at home and soon settled in to a conversation about our greyhound. Beer was ery good, Crop Circle and trelawney. Good selection of ales availabl. addlened - 10 Apr 2015 17:48 |
Weymouth has its fair share of decent boozers and this is certainly one of them. It seemingly has its fair share of regular along with a handful of visitors too. The bar staff were very friendly. Some of the customers were a little eccentric. I'm guessing I also saw the guy in the hat, complete with a red blazer and what I believe was a truncheon underneath. This guy wasn't singing, but was taking a key interest in the Lily Allen tracks on the jukebox. He looked a little like Sir Bruce Forsyth! Ales were Flack Manor Flack's Double Drop, Sharps Doom Bar, Butcombe Bitter, Dartmoor Jail Ale & Clearwater Devon Darter. The cider was Thatchers Heritage. The main bar is small and there appeared to be another room with a pool table. There is an interesting selection of scooter pictures and a Weymouth FC shirt at the one end. Nice pub with plenty of character and characters! blue_scrumpy - 30 Mar 2015 16:51 |
