Its a very friendly and clean pub. Never had any probems with staff of punters. Dog friendly too... very decent GVF - 6 Jan 2011 19:14 |
15 for 3 undercooked roast potatoes, 2 slices of overcooked beef and some boiled veg... Probably the worst roast dinner I've had the misfortune of paying for. Pub quiz was pretty good though. But that's about it. jjh3481 - 5 Dec 2010 22:28 |
Ok looking pub but full of toffs in chinos. Avoid. richakn - 24 Jun 2010 21:15 |
Two words: very disappointing. I'd go with the comments below regarding clientle. Whilst the drinks selection is good though pricey (almost 10 for two standard 'pub' G&T's with Beefeater gin) the food left was more mixed. What could have been a perfectly decent roast was marred by chewy, stringy beef (though apparently hung for 28days, strange), roasties featuring both hard lumps of underdone potato and dark patches. The lemon posset for pudding was, for want of a better word... an abomination. Friendly (if slightly incompetent) staff though. HBTY - 3 May 2010 10:37 |
Not really my kind of place - as others have noted this is a bit of haven for braying morons. I'm not a violent man, but after one smart comment too many from a Toby/Henry/Rupert as I walked past on my way home I would happily bring a bunch of Donny lads down and give them all a good slapping about with their own oars. Would have been an acceptable '5', but the clientele push it down to a '3' - avoid. Go to the Alma down the road instead, still full of posh folk but they're much nicer and more tasteful posh folk.
