smoking area outside is very good with good heaters, or atleast as good as it can be taking the law into account. has a good bar with a decent range of drinks. dart board is in a good area with lots of lighting, only thing it could do with is a pool table. the food is good, id rather go to the glen than some of the restaurants in the area! dontknow17 - 18 Mar 2009 13:18 |
Come on Geoff, what about your loyal band of smokers who still spend good money on their drinks but have to stand out in the freezing cold to have a smoke? Spend a little, love a lot - get some heaters, please. ppagdc - 12 Dec 2007 17:34 |
Great now the smokers are outside !! Food is very good and the chef sometimes even brings out your order - he's been there 15 yrs so thats a good sign. Nice reasonable priced nenu. BUT please can they sort out the card parking. musicjunkie - 27 Aug 2007 07:37 |
Big pub, good garden (play area for kids) poor parking for size of pub. It's smoky, has a good selection of beer and wine, sells reasonably-priced food and has a non-smoking conservatory, away from Sky TV off of lounge bar. Geoff the landlord is often to be found drinking in The Pilgrim in Marchwood and his golf handicap is disgustly low for a man of his advancing years and restricted mobility. If you want a 'decent-pint, solid-grub' type pub, then you'll be fine here. Put the live bands back on for Thursday Geoff, you know it makes sense. rgb - 29 Jan 2007 17:55 |
Visited this pub for a celebration dinner for family member who has just retired. The food was excellent as was the service supplied by very pleasant ladies - everything for 30 people arrived piping hot and generous portions. The pub itself was packed but not noisy. Ace place !!! One gripe would be the car park which seems to be used as an overnight park for commercial 'white vans' - please mark the parking bays in paint - drivers may then park less higgelty-piggelty """" musicjunkie - 23 Jan 2007 18:47 |
