revolting, filthy place. Called in at 6.30 Saturday and every table was covered in empty glasses with crisp bags and other detritus on the tables and floors. pleaseant enough bar staff, but totally disintersted in the first (and lasting) impression. Sticky tables, sticky bar, dirty and half the beers off. Real shame as Greene King is not a local Sheffield ale and the potential for a good night watching sport on the screens or playing pool is lost by the overall filthy impression. Won't return and would not recommend it MrAverage - 9 Jan 2011 16:04 |
If you want real ale while watching Sky Sports then this is the best. If you only want one of these two things it's good but there are others that are better. ikay - 24 Nov 2009 21:40 |
As GK pubs go I suppose this place isn't bad. On a recent visit there were six ales on including guests from Everards and Kelham Island. A good place to go for live sport as they have both sky and setanta although I think the interior is pretty horrible ChrisP87 - 11 Mar 2009 11:53 |
A very pleasant surprise. This is a rare Greene King gem - looks a bit rubbish and theme-pub-esque from the outside and its pretty standard inside. Big, spacious, TV's, pool table, darts, sofas etc. But then on my visit there were 10 ales on which was stunning. 3 Kelham Island beers, Ruddles/Abbot/Old Speckeled Hen/Sun Dance and a couple of guests. Had 4 pints, all in top condition and reasonable prices. Will be returning. Sharp - 21 Aug 2008 18:36 |
Can be quite pleasant, can also be way too busy. Nice decking area out the front for summer evenings. Don't expect to get find a clean table or get decent service in the afternoon before 19:00 - only ever one member of staff on. hotphil - 25 Oct 2005 18:40 |
