Staying local so popped in here for Sunday lunch with friends. Outside it looks promising enough but interior drab 70's look. IPA was a bit flat but acceptable. Owner very helpful, offered us a taste of wines before ordering. Sunday roasts (lamb, pork) were acceptable, good portions but a bit overcooked for our liking. Overall OK but wouldn't recommend. last came to this pub some years ago after a young couple re opend the pub with beards of sussex service then was then to a high stanard and a tight ship was ran. Our visit last week was not so good poor service but the food was good. 032 - 5 May 2008 11:23 |
Situated on Lidsey Road, Woodgate, right on the level crossing. This is a Real Ale pub, and there is always a good pint served here. The beer garden is large, so the kids can run around, and when the level-crossing gates come down, the guessing starts as to which way the next train comes from. The food is of a high standard, from bar snacks to a full al-a-carte menu. If you're in West Sussex, go out of your way to go to this pub. You will not be diappointed.. Blackadder - 8 Aug 2007 09:18 |
