| Having spent a week away in Hambledon, we cannot recommend The Vine highly enough. Fantastic team, great food and a wonderful atmosphere meant we kept returning again and again. If you're in the area (or even if you're not) make sure to pay them a visit! kev44surrey - 7 Jun 2013 11:44 |
| This pub has now reopened after a four month closure under completely new management. It has been thoroughly cleaned and redecorated and the pretty garden has again been returned to grass and flower beds with a covered area to one side for smokers. We ate there on the day it opened and had an excellent freshly cooked Sunday lunch and friends who have eaten there since have been pleased with their meals. Steve and Rachael are welcoming and staffing levels ensure good service. At the moment there is a fairly limited range of ales, but it is early days and Steve has shown himself to be open to requests for old favourites and willing to extend his range of beers If you have been disappointed in the past, try the pub again. | We visited the Vine on the 11th January and had a very nice meal. The restaurant was inviting with about 20 people eating. Our orders were taken at the bar by very friendly staff and our meals were served quickly by, again, friendly helpful staff. We expected a limited, frugal choice as we had purchased Groupon vouchers but were extremely surprised at the choice and quality of the freshly prepared food. Last evening - 18th January 4 of us returned and had an equally delightful meal. I understand there were problems a few weeks ago but we could certainly find no fault on either of our visits. | We went for a Groupon Meal on January the 11th and had a pretty perfect evening! Food was good and plenty, service was very friendly, toilets clean etc and ample parking next to Pub. Was surprised to read previous comments, can only assume these were teething problems that have since been sorted.
