The only good point is the beer garden - which due to being overexploited by the landlady means they cannot cope with food orders when you go there to take advantage of the views. Food is terrible quality and overpriced too. Soft drinks prices are astronomical and the pub is NOT child friendly at all - staff extremely inhospitable to children. Waited an hour for food with no apology to find the quality was awful - panninis arrived with burnt tuna from somebody elses meal stuck to the bread! You have been warned - families avoid at all cost! monkeyash76 - 5 Sep 2011 15:17 |
went to this pub about a month ago. drinks are quite expensive! Staff are unfriendly and unfortunately on top of that had to complain about the food. It was tasteless and just slopped on the plate and it wasnt even very busy. I live locally and heard not great things about it, but thought i would give it a go as I hadnt been there in quite a while. I wish i had not bothered. What a shame, I feel it really lets Manningtree down. On a good note, the only one I feel, are the views from the pub garden. stryker - 9 Sep 2009 15:16 |
One of my favourites, never had a bad evening there. Even the live music is not intrusive in the dining area. motorcyclist - 25 Jun 2009 23:26 |
The wait for food on a Saturday lunchtime of over an hour is quite unacceptable. One could hear the arguing from the kitchen as the staff squabbled with each other. Otherwise potentially a nice pub. guygrumbridge - 26 Aug 2008 16:55 |
