Visited again (see below), so can now review more thoroughly... Nice, Traditional Everards pub that has recently undergone a bit of a make-over. Lovely staff that can’t do enough for you and very reasonably priced food. Beer was the normal Everards with Tiger and Tighthead, along with Adnams bitter as guest. Could possibly have done with a stronger ale such as Original or pale beer such as Sunchaser, because I found the three beers on a bit "samey". The pub has small rooms with wood panelling and is very cosy on a cold day. Also has tradional Skittle alley and lots of nooks and crannies. This is a pub that I pass quite a bit as I only live 4 or 5 miles away, but for some reason I hadn’t been in for a while, but I will certainly visit again... Barrow_Beer_Hunter - 7 Mar 2016 11:42 |
Popped in around 15:00 on a Saturday afternoon, and the pub looked really nice. Small rooms and roaring fires… Unfortunately (for me) it keeps traditional hours and they were just closing…! I will definitely return though. I will mark it a 7 as I'm sure it wouldnt dissapoint, and then mark again when I actually visit. Barrow_Beer_Hunter - 15 Feb 2016 14:00 |
Fabulous food, including game shot by the publican and really great desserts. Everards beers are well kept and complimented by a rotating list of one or more guest beers. Service is prompt and friendly, and did I mention the food is outstanding? 20ozPint - 14 Mar 2006 16:19 |
