Quick visit on the way to the Station and I liked it. Everards Ales which was well kept, laid back atmosphere, usual trad pub fittings, friendly staff and sport on TV. I`d probably use this boozer often if I lived there...praise enough! Blastbeat - 2 Mar 2017 08:58 |
After my failed attempt to visit 4 years ago , I made the Barley Mow our first stop yesterday. It's fairly close to the station. The interior doesn't have too many tables. I guess most people stand. But it was early enough to be able to grab one of the tables. The ale selection was not the best - Everards Tiger, Beacon & Original & Wood Farm (aka Kendricks) Webb Ellis & Mulligans. No real cider was stocked. blue_scrumpy - 8 May 2016 16:02 |
The best pub I drank in on my short stop over in Leicester. Friendly bar bloke, nice beer (Everard's Web Ellis @ 3.05, first taste for me), and an informative chat with a local who had apparently never met an Australian. Perhaps being a bit more expensive than the nearby chain pubs kept the crowd thin, but I enjoyed my short visit. Queenslander - 16 Sep 2014 23:30 |
Visited @ 7pm on a Thursday in June 2014 on a works night out. Probably around 10 drinkers around bar, mostly locals and a few suits who had finished work. Décor is okay, and although there was only Everards ales on offer, they did have 5 choices (Original, Beacon, Tiger, Sunchaser & Scrum), so pretty good choice... Looked like a band was setting up, and overall I thought this was a decent city centre pub... Barrow_Beer_Hunter - 6 Jun 2014 13:39 |
Bit empty on a Monday eve. Decent enough pub. Average bar staff. Wood and tile floor. Could not see any ales other than the usual Everards rpf1955 - 24 Mar 2013 13:00 |
