Theres a superviser/manager called Natalie who is a compulsive fruit machine addict. If she sees someone lose a fortune on the bandit, she switches it off till closing time so she can go on it. She gives people who play fruit machines well a hard time. jeffvickers - 9 Dec 2007 10:43 |
Very great tasting pint of Fox's Nob was consumed here much 2 the amusement of the barmaid(who was pretty tasty!) 8/10 fat_beer_badger - 18 Apr 2007 14:14 |
Never use the place in the evening! However, we always pop in for breakfast and coffee. And out of all the JDW places we "Pop in to" this one serves the best breakfast. Some of the bar staff could do with a bit of top up training. Otherwise great value compared to greasy spoon cafes that are available in halifax. ukmysterycustomer - 6 Mar 2007 18:31 |
Harsh comments below though possibly fair! Worth a call during the day for a quick pint of predictable beer. Typical JDW house, cheap beer of consistantly slightly above average quality. Plastic food but cheap and you know what you are going to get. Surprised to get to the door on a Saturday night and be deafened by loud music blasting out (so loud I didn't enter). I thought JDW had a no music policy apart from Llyod's No 1 bars?? Beermonitor - 21 Oct 2006 13:07 |
Went in last night (Saturday) and it looked nice and packed, sadly - bar staff are rubbish! Waited ages to be served and asked for a pint of Mansfield (local ale) and a coke, the lad give my a coke and nothing else, when I asked him where my Mansfield was he promptly told me `we dont sell it` ! Went passed this pub later to see half of West Yorks Police steaming in - and I dont think it was for the cheap ale or food Scousefire - 5 Jun 2005 13:29 |
