Now appears to be closed down and the premises up for sale.

One word really - GRIM!! Years ago this was a nice pub.....now it's just a dump.

Brief visit on way home from the Quicksilver Mail. The interior is just as depressing as I remembered from years ago (before La olivia) and the only beer, Yeovil Glory was only just about drinkeable. Only plus is the view from the terrace.

On the Good Side -
1. After failing miserably as the horrendously overpriced "La Olivia" restaurant, the Yew Tree is a pub once again.
2. There are two pumps currently serving Doom Bar and Yeovil Ale's Stargazer - both of which are among my favourite ales.

On the Bad Side -
1. They have retained the cheap-looking wooden tables and chairs of the failed restaurant and the pub now has the ambience of a roadside caf.
2. Other than this, there is no atmosphere at all.
3.Horror of horrors (and sadly all too common in Somerset) my Doom Bar tasted overwhelmingly of cider - a complete bloody waste of 3.15. PLEASE clean your glasses properly, or your pipes, or both!

Oh, another good thing is the terrific view looking across Yeovil. There again, this view may be appreciated equally as well by walking straight past the Yew Tree - something I'd really recommend!.
