Lovely riverside venue, good sized garden - great for kids! Food, as you'd expect, no complaints. Great place to spent a summer's afternoon!

visited at 12.30 on a quiet Tuesday lunchtime in Septembeer and was not impressed. One man serving at bar took 15 minutes to deal with three customers. Ordered a simple sandwich and gave our table number in the garden; 40 minutes later, a complaint to the bar produced the sandwich; instantly ! where had it been ? The sandwich and beer were good, but the garden was serioulsy unkempt, with litter and unwiped tables - presumably from the prvious day. Looks as though some serious management is called for.

I often use the Bells as i have 2 children and there arnt many family pubs left in this area. It does get very busy, especially at the weekends when it is sunny as they have a large garden with food service also. But i have always found the staff to be very friendly and to try their best if there are any delays. Once youve been a few times your recognised and called by name and shown your favourite table if you have one!
