| Nice pub, it used to be alot better before it's refurb, but that's my preference of old pubs - it had a gorgeous layout with flagstones, etc. Now it's more modern, and a Sizzler pub. It could do with a few more staff - service is very slow, the bar is more often empty than not, leaving people waiting, and food recently has taken a very long time to come out. I understand pubs can get busy, but in the middle of the day with barely anyone but drinkers there, it was odd to experience a wait of over 45 minutes. Overall, it's a nice pub though. | Nice pub, with a local history. Internally in good condition with a modern feel. Food is reasonably priced, although can vary in quality. Generally good, although it has known to be poor when there were new/temporary staff working. Hanham_1 - 20 Jun 2013 22:00 |

| This place has now re-opened as a "Sizzling" pub. The building has had a very nice comfy and effective refurb and the food looked great value and very tasty. Opted for Butcombe Gold to quaff and it turned out to be in perfect nick. 7/10 fat_beer_badger - 28 Jan 2012 15:22 |
