The best of the four Glasgow Wetherspoons I tried. Probably all down to staff and ambience. Despite being in Sauchiehall Street it was not impersonal. Bar staff were very good. Beer was well kept. ArhurPint - 16 Jun 2014 00:16 |
Agreed that The State bar is a better boozer but I was impressed with the range of Scottish beers in this 'spoons bar. All in good nick and the staff were very helpful although the pub wasnt all that busy so they had a bit more time than usual. Charing Cross train station is just round the corner and there is even a bus terminus in Holland Street at the side so it's easy to get to here mcroyal - 20 May 2014 10:04 |
6th and final pub of my afternoon before retiring to the hotel for a shower and change! This large spoons in the popular Sauchihall St area was very busy at 6pm when I came in. A good selection of Festival beers on tap and the 2 I had were fine. Open plan interior. Worth a look but the State bar opposite is a much nicer pub. lezford - 17 Apr 2013 13:17 |
So I had two pints listed in the programme for the beer festival, both at 1.55. They were fine, but then I found a beer from the Isle of Skye, Cuillin Beast, so had a half of that. A 7% beer for 1.55 a pint!!! Unbelievable. jagsfan - 20 Mar 2012 13:48 |
Onlt started using this place, most of the staff are excellent, one or two could be better and they know it.I am a great Real Ale lover, they have got a very good selection, the prices start at 1.65,you can't beat it,I go in after work about 2 o,clock till about 4 and find it rather good,it also has a good real ale following. 8/10 gumsyhorse - 26 Jan 2012 22:54 |
