Ironically I used this pub as a toilet stop en route to the football. The pub was too busy to spot anybody using it for a toilet. Although for a pub just 15 minutes walk from the ground, it was quieter than I would have expected. On the way out, I spotted a few people I knew and with time to spare, elected to stay for a drink. The pub does have a handpull. But no real ale was on and some of the keg beers were off too. The options were Stella, Strongbow, Carling, Fosters, John Smiths & Heineken. I opted for a bottle of imported Guinness which went down quite nicely. Another pub ticked off and who knows, I may need the toilet again some day when passing! blue_scrumpy - 28 Dec 2016 21:57 |
We popped in for a beer, found that they had *no* beer on tap, only bottles in the fridge. OK, let's pop to the loo while deciding what to have, man behind bar bellows 'toilets are for paying customers only'. Combination of no beer and rudeness made it not worth staying. This pub, if you could call it a pub, is welcome to go out of business. neilyneil - 6 Apr 2016 08:11 |
Unbelievable place! I went in there with a couple of mates for a quiet drink at lunchtime and it is crazy. The gaffer was telling us about the sauna across the road and offered us a loyalty card to get a service for 42! He told us he goes there all the time! Place had one chap wearing a suit shirt and tie and he was dancing on the pool table. Wasn't as bad as some people have made it out to be. ladybirds - 21 Sep 2012 15:20 |
So sorry to see this. Used to be my local and very ordinary but comfortable and decent beer it had too. What a shame. Doggo - 24 May 2012 18:01 |
As a local I'll say that it isn't too bad on a weekday afternoon. If you venture there on a Friday evening or over the weekend (especially when LCFC are at home) then expect to come out wearing some of the furniture ! It's a shame really as it's a large, old pub which deserves better and the non-savage locals deserve something better from it. aehihc - 2 Mar 2009 19:00 |
