Very interesting building, but they only had Doombar on - yuk! Walked out but might try it again to see if it has Real Ale next time!

The Beer was good when I visited in June 2013, so may have changed from Snarling Mallards last visit. Cotswold Lion and a couple of Hook Norton Beers available. I visited around 4.00pm on a Saturday and the place was pretty busy... The bar-staff were helpful (in fact, they even recommended The King's Head @ Napton-on-the-Hill because they currently weren't serving food, which was also great!), and the garden is also pleasant. The building must be one of the oldest in Southam and is fantastic inside.

Nice enough old building but the ale wasn't really on form here.

A really nice building and OK beer. Two purity beers Gold and Goose. Served ok but a little cold.

Called in for lunch yesterday though we arrived 10 mins after their chef left. Ben, the new landlord, kindly agreed to do us sandwiches or hot snacks, which was more than welcome, as were the Purity ales. Warm welcome and friendly staff, Ben and his team deserve to do well there!

A wet bank holiday in Southam was greatly improved by a visit to this place. Purity Gold and UBU, say no more.

This was once a fabulous pub with a wide choice of quality ales. Unfortunatley although the atmosphere is still good it has lost its old appeal and is now another pub destined to mediocrity.
