Almost 4 years on and nothing has changed. The two banks of handpumps are still duplicated and even worse they were three GK beers on with Old Speckled Hen joining the Abbot and Ruddles so that reduced the choice to three. The Doom Bar clip was turned round (no disappointment) reducing the choice to two which left Hook Norton Old Hooky easily available in this area and Shepherd Neame Spitfire Amber which I have not tried for some time so settled for that. Guess what.....it had run out although the clip had not been turned round. As per my previous posting I was left with Hobson's choice. Old Hooky it was. I also ordered fish and chips and lo and behold they had run out of fish. Can I recommend this place? NO!

Look carefully at the two banks of six handpulls and you will see they are duplicated so a choice of twelve become six. These consist of Ruddles bitter and Abbot (both Greene King so I avoid) and Doom Bar (found everywhere and like drinking undiluted syrup). So I was left with three guest ales which were Wild Weather Ales Howlin' Gale mild, Evan Evans Gold Hop and Moorhouse's Farmhouse. Having requested Gold Hop I was told it had just run out, the Farmhouse tasted strange (maybe the end of the barrel) so I asked for it to be replaced with a Howlin' Gale which it was without question and to be fair this was quite drinkable. I was intending to stay for two or three pints but only had the one as a result of my bitter (excuse the pun) disappointment.

Has somehow made it on to Beer in the Evening twice which is twice too many. Like all Wetherspoons, it's cheap but that's where the advantages end because again, like all Wetherspoons, it's an aircraft hangar of a place, full of geezers (young and old), full of day-glo adverts for its wares, owned by a UKIP sympathiser and joint responsible with Costa Coffee and others for the uniformity of Britain's high streets. All wrong then and even the beer selection and taste on this visit was rubbish.

Not a bad 'spoons; i've been to a lot worse. Quiet on friday when i visited, i had a nice pint of North Cotswold Shagweaver. Pub serves up to 8 locally sourced ales in good condition

Their sign says they have free wifi--and I asked them again verbally, the bartender confirmed they have it. When I turned on my computer (after ordering something and paying for it), turned out their wifi was not working. I asked nicely whether they could check why it was not working, and all I got was there was little they could do. Eventually someone agreed to turn their server switch off then back on. Still nothing. So wifi doesn't work as they advertised.

As to the comment below the kids area is to the rear of the pub it is not small in size (half the pub) so how can it be small. It is near the garden but nowhere near the smokers as the garden is big and the smoke does not drift into the pub. Also kids are welcome in the pub if they are eating and in the family area.

Don't go to this pub with kids.....very rude barman told us that kids were only permitted to sit in a very small area near the smokers outside and nowhere else. Avoid at all costs if you have a family!!

A truly awful pub. Scruffy, under staffed and an unpleasant experience. You know what to expect from Weatherspoons (cheap and not very cheerful) but a saving grace is usually the Ale.
On my visit, they had only 3 ales on - Black Sheep, Ruddles Bitter and another national and boring brand, which was so forgetable that I have forgotten !

One word - filthy!

Been visiting weekly for last few weeks, not the best spoons I have encountered, mediocre beer, mediocre staff, mediocre service but better than the competition, JUST. Bicesters best pubs are out of town from what I have experienced, the town ones all seems to vie for mediocracy and do well at it.

Ale was divine, the pub itself pretty average 4 a spoons, 7/10

Prices on a range of drinks have been lowered to provide competition with Yates further up the road. I like the choice of real ales when available.Perhaps I visit at quiet times because the tables have normaly been cleared. I think the locals at Bicester are spoiled for choice, the town has many good pubs, there realy is something for all tastes.

Not a lot to reccommend it, usual JD'S perhaps slighty dirtier than some although i have seen worse.
Customers are about what you would expect. Visit only if like myself you are desperate.

It's cheap but also filthy in my experience. I went in there a couple of weeks ago and a so-called waitress managed to spill the remnants of a coffee cup over both the carpet and my trousers (I managed to clean the latter myself). She walked off and 30 mins later hadn't come back to clean up the mess. It's a filthy place which seems full of drunks on the look out for cheap drinks with staff who seemingly couldn't give two hoots. One to avoid!!

Average Wetherspoons. Big time wino's hangout. Beer isn't bad though. Very good price, as per every other Wetherspoons (thanks to them buying almost out of date beer). Terrible layout and on a Friday and Saturday night you can expect far too many people in there geting a few cheap ones down to start the night off. Food is ok but the presentation is very hit and miss. The farmhouse breakfast on a Sunday is great to get rid of the Saturday night hangover though.

A fairly standard Wetherspoons pub with food, decent cheap beer and a nice patio area out the back where you can sit in the sun with a pint and escape the shoppers in the centre of town. It's child friendly which can be infuriating if you go to the pub to escape push chairs and other people's screaming kids. No music or tv screens which is a blessing or a curse depending on your state of mind.
