No real ale!
|
Finally got around to trying this pub following a visit to Chessington World of Adventures in September. There are no real ales served - just Guinness, Strongbow, Fosters, Carling, Coors Light, Kronenbourg, Heineken & Hop House Lager. It was a cold day and the fire was on. The customers all seemed to be local.

Now reopened !

This pub was flooded late in 2016 and has not reopened.

The pint of Old Hooky I had here was a bit dubious but that may well have been me not the beer, will go back and try something else another day. Small comfy bar with a pleasant lively crowd. Barman slipped outside for a quick smoke and noticing my almost empty glass asked if I wanted another before he went which impressed me as it was my first visit. Will be back.

Beware a lot of websites that say this pub is open from 11am. Was here until past midday on Sunday and it still was not open. 0/10 for a pub that doesn't open to its published times.

Used to be a good pub. Runs out of beer, no food, (might get a roll on a Saturday if one of the daughters can be bothered to make any. Most of the staff are only interested in what is on their mobile. Seems to have only two barstaff who know what they are doing. The rest of them useless. The ales used to be 1st class but now, well try yourself. And they have the cheek to be the most expensive pub in chessington

Went here Christmas eve-what a mistake. Dreadful place with the most disgusting toilets I have ever visited. They only had Rioja on offer for wine drinkers (!),so I presume no one ever orders it! I love Irish pubs, but this was devoid of atmosphere and with the saddest looking bunch of misfits sitting in the bar

Located in the centre of Hook Broadway with a small frontage with just enough space for 2 tables/benches. Compact 1 bar pub with around the wall seating which is moderately comfortable. 2 cask ales, Courage Best Bitter and a very nice pint of Harveys Sussex Bitter. Predominately used by locals who like their horse racing on the box. Appears to be popular with workers in the construction trade.

What a nice pub! Friendly people and the beer good. Would I go there again, yes!

the barman is full of (tall) stories, always backs them up with pictures too. not too sure about the pub though.

Irish Landlord, so lots of Irish punters. Guniess is superb and the bar staff very friendly (and good looking). No evening meals but who cares!!!

Not for the faint hearted...Locals can be a little "Moody" i.e dont go with your good looking bird. She will get chat and looks all night!!!! Plus if you like people called "Fingers" or "pete the meat".....then its all yours!
