The Lucky Rover, Hook

Went here Christmas eve-what a mistake.
Dreadful place with the most disgusting toilets I have ever visited.
They only had Rioja on offer for wine drinkers (!),so I presume no one ever orders it!
I love Irish pubs,but this was devoid of atmosphere and with the saddest
looking bunch of misfits sitting in the bar

The North Star, Hook

Recently visited this pub (on a Saturday night)and it was virtually empty.
I think trade has dropped off since a nasty knifing incident some months ago,and some regulars have voted with their feet.

The North Star, Hook

Although this is probably the best pub in Chessington (there is little competition!),it still leaves a lot to be desired.
During the day it feels like one has wandered onto the set of "Cocoon",or a residential care home.
In the evening (we went there last night) it is full of shaven -headed men in crop
trousers and flip-flops -no eye-candy at all!
The food is bog standard pub grub,and the wine selection is unadventurous.
The bar staff are pleasant enough,but always seem under pressure.
It has deteriorated in the years since John Owens departure-he set very high standards,but hey that's how it is these days.
