Closed. The building and site are to be redeveloped. Local residents have been canvassed as to what they would like to see in its place. Suggested uses are a car park for locals and a day nursery. A great pity: it was never really any great shakes as a pub (and I go back 35 years) and always seemed a sad waste of an attractive building in a good location. Still, que sera, sera!

Did not realise that the 60s was still art deco, well you live and learn

Excellent pub with friendly new management. He was Irish, and as you would expect the Guiness was in splendid nick.

Strange place, bar to the right, what seems like work ceing carried out to the left? Maybe someone can tell us whats going on?
Standard beer and little atmosphere in the 1960's art deco shaped style bar. Although its friendly enough and packed when the football is on. (Setanta no Sky).

Great local pub. Improved beyond recognition since it came under new management about 18 months ago. Used to be chavtown, but they appear to have been successfully exterminated (I think the "No Hats" rule confused them all into staying at home watching Trisha videos). Fairly standard range of beers although plans are afoot to get guest beers in. Staff always pleasant and friendly. What used to be the bar area is now a fully kitted-out Indian restaurant! The food is absolutely superb, the chef having been poached from one of the best restaurants in Birmingham (Shimla Pinks, no less!) and very reasonably priced, great for a takeaway as well. Well worth paying a visit. Very handy for Harborne and ,very unlike Harborne, loads of parking spaces.
