Former baths and Wetherspoon's branch that is now looking very dilapidated. Surprising since it hasn't been closed that long.

Went past today and it was closed, a notice on the door citing a small refurbishment due to "unforeseen circumstances". But looking at the two most recent reviews it would suggest it has been closed for a few months. It no longer appears on the Wetherspoons web site so guess it's safe to say it has either closed for good or has been sold.

Has this place reopened yet? Stonegate have been purchasing a few old wetherspoons is this one of them?

The Sir Titus Salt facebook page has informed its followers that it will no longer be a Wetherspoons from the 5th of March, 2017. A shame really as it was quite a pretty wetherspoons and was quite good for a wetherspoons from my experiences. Hopefully something useful is done with the place, preferably a decent pub, seems like a fair few of pubs in the centre of Bradford are closing soon, some of them may not be missed but this one is one that it will be a shame to see gone. Considering that some cities have 5 or more wetherspoons which aren't half as characterful as this one, you would think that Tim Martin would try and safe this one at the expense of one in another city, or even the lloyds bar down the road. I guess though this is a case of getting rid of the dead wood/less profitable establishments.

Entered via the Morley Street entrance and there was a rather unpleasant toilet smell as I climbed the steps up to the bar level. Not a great first impression. On entering I spotted a bank of 5 hand pumps, 2 were taken up by Wetherspoons standard ales Abbot and Ruddles. Remaining 3 were all available and featured something a bit different. I went for a pint of Ilkley Gold (Ilkley Brewery), a pale at 3.9% and costing £2.20. Served with a creamy head, this was a refreshing ale.

My otherwise peaceful lunch time visit was spoilt somewhat by a group of two women and two children who decided to seat themselves on the table next to me. The kids were noisy and running about the place and one of the women had a rather nasal American accent, which did grate on me somewhat. To be fair to the staff, once they had ordered food they brought over crayons and colouring stuff to attempt to occupy the kids.

The place is fairly standard in terms of Wetherspoons layout, though there was a fire in the centre of the seating area with tables facing it. It doesn't feel like one big open barn as sections of wall help to break up the place into sections. There was a "tick and pick" chalk board listing real ales near the bar, but was more of a chance to tick off your favourite rather than being a menu of what was currently available.

Before leaving I noticed there was a further bank of 5 pump, looked like Abbot and Ruddles were duplicated, also looked like there was a Doom Bar pump but couldn't see the other two.

Exited via the Randall Well Street entrance which was a bit more pleasant than Morley Street, but still had that "pavement toilet" aroma in the doorway but perhaps to a lesser extent than the other side. There were a handful of small tables on the street outside for outside drinking.

Overall, not a bad pub, and a decent pint.

Its a barn. Always waiting for ages to get served. They do have the occasional good ale on but at the end of the day its a wetherspoons so not a real pub!

A pub well worth a visit if you love your ale. There has always been a big selection of beers on offer but the beers used to be a bit predictable. Things have now improved and you're likely to see more blonde and golden ales and something from the local breweries.
I really like the decor of the place although it does need a bit of TLC. Like most Bradford pubs it doesnt get rammed like pubs in Leeds, but its steady and has a good mix of young and old.

An imaginative conversion of an old swimming pool, this Wetherspoons outlet is certainly better than its sister pub in Centenary Square (a Lloyds No 1).

Despite some of the previous comments, we usually chat to the duty manager or other members of staff, and, with one or two exceptions, are impressed by their knowledge of and enthusiasm for real ale.

Cannot fault the quality of the beer.

Close to the university and such classic bars such as Walkabout, Revolution and Flares can get a younger crowd on a weekend.
There is a large main hall wher the bar is located with an upstairs area and a couple of smaller rooms. Awful mustard coloured walls and 70s lighting. Thats the bad points taken care of.
Was served witin seconds of walking in. There was a good range of beers and the pub appears in the good beer guide. Tried the Kelham Island Bitter well kept but very bitter wont try that one again.
The place needs a makeover 5.

Above average beer quality in a stunning conversion of the former Windsor Baths. If you want to avoid the food, try "Lunch Box" a little further up the road for one of their famous fry ups!

i have been to wetherspoon pubs all over England and this is without a doubt the worst one i have ever been in the food is awful the the staff are ignorant and rude and when you complain to the manager he does want to know which is a pity for it is a great building and has some nice beers

Took my children after pantomime at alhambra & wish I hadnt bothered....one plate had burnt "chips"..were sent back, one plate had cold undercooked chips & were sent back only to be replaced with burnt chips (probably from the previous plate sent back!) - the burger was raw in the middle and had to be sent back and the garlic bread was rock hard and inedible - the waitress pratically snarled at us when we complained and the manager wasnt much better - altho we did get our money back - would not ever go there again- disgusting!!!!

Pretty poor, even for a Wetherspoons. Food served with all the speed of continental drift. Nice enough building ruined by terrible staff. But still better than the immediate neighbours.

asked the barmaid to recomend one of the guest ales last night. She didn't really have a clue but said 'that one's funny'. What do ya mean Why? 'Cause it has a funny name'
Okay we'll try 2 pints of ButtCume please.
She started giggling then the barman started and then 2 guys next to us roared about laughing and so on.

It turned out to be a good choice so I returned for more. Obviously not making the mistake the second time I asked for a pint of 'that' bitter please to a different barmaid, 'Which one?' she asked as if I couldn't read, 'that one' I pointed.
'Is that all, anything else?' That's all thanks....oh no sorry forgot, a small coke, with ice, and lemon for my boyfriend,......he's had enough buttcume for now!

last time I came here was 1994 and an empty baths hall up for development. we crammed about 300 people in for an allnight party. Wetherspoons have done a very good job here retaining and renovating much of the cast iron columns and arches. Worth a visit mid week when quiet and easy service/parking etc. Staff at least have a good sense of humour.

mrBean - 23 Aug 2006 11:45
I've always found the staff generally friendly tho' in common with most Wetherspoon pubs can be difficult to get served at any time and a nightmare on Fri/Sat eves. Great ale range at cheap prices goes without saying (but quality goes downhill at busy times IMO)

Beautifully decorated, furnished and good sized Wetherspoons bar. Usual Wetherspoons value for money. Unfortunately Pub is badly managed with poorly trained and rude barstaff. If the staff are predominantly male, guys waiting to be served will have to either grow a pair of breasts or prepare for an intolerably long wait to catch the eye of the dire staff in this establishment.
