Time to kill waiting for a train, outdoor courtyard was reserved for diners and quite busy. Extra tables had been put in the car park for drinkers. Service was a little slow but the TT Landlord was excellent.

Rarely do you see all the Timothy Taylor beers in one place

My final pub in Skipton was the Woolly Sheep, a Timothy Taylor pub. Entrance is along a corridor. There are three similar sized rooms, one behind the other with the bar itself split between the front two. Not all ales are available in the front room. There is also an outdoor seating area to the rear. TT ales were Landlord, Boltmaker, Golden Best, Ram Tam & Dark Mild. In addition, they had Reedley Hallows Filly Close Blonde & Moorhouses Witches Cauldron as guests. Traditional place that is one of the better options in the town. Seemingly popular with diners.

Stayed here for 2 nights on a Wednesday and Thursday in early July, a great choice for it's location, it appears in the 2016 GBG and its a Timothy Taylor pub.
5 of their ales on, Landlord, Golden Best, Boltmaker, Ram Tam & Dark Mild + 2 guest's, one from Ilkley I cannot remember what the other one was .
The pub is extremely well decorated and you can tell money has been spent on the interior, the front is a comfy lounge area with a small bar & large leather backed chairs while through to the rear is a more traditional bar area.
2 dining areas towards the rear are split level and serve good home cooked food, not cheap but the restaurant part does get booked up so it must be good.
At the back is a traditional courtyard with a covered decking area. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably priced.
A pub, restaurant and hotel all in one.

Busy (mainly food) pub with the drinkers area having a bit of a through other feel. Taylors landlord was bland but that is more to do with it being a mass produced beer methinks.

Way overpriced, beer fine and decent atmosphere but poor value for money.
|
Comprehensive range of Taylors and some guests, all at high prices though.
The place seemed solid, period traditional, and the bar staff pleasant.
There's a long list of TT prizes won on a wooden plaque.

It was OK. A bit sterile perhaps. But pleasant enough and some decent ales to try. Definitely one of the better ones in Skipton.
|
Some friends don't rate this place, but I quite liked it. Good Timmy Taylors beer, but like alot of pubs in Skipton - TOO expensive
|
Better when it was The Brick Hall I tell thee...
|
This pub embodies what Skipton is all about in time honoured tradition. Wonderfully kept interior. Good selection of real ales. Some fantastic food on offer. Just can be a bit pricey.
|
As good as any town pub I've ever been in. TT Landlord a bit expensive, as the brewery owns the pub, but food was good, room excellent and service tip-top.

Pat, you are a mug

I don't like to talk too much about food on this site, but the lunch here was fantastic.
All the sandwiches come with a minature frying basket of proper deep fried Maris Piper chips.
A word of warning though. Don't order the giant Yorkshire Pudding unless you are intending to share it with at least one other person. It's the size of a car tyre.
Stowford Press Cider on draught.

Pleasant country town pub. I quite often pop in for a quiet pint of the excellent Taylor's Golden Best while She Who Must Be Obeyed is shopping in the town/market. Beer always seems well kept, and the atmosphere, in the day anyway, is relaxed with an interesting range of punters from attractive young girls to unattractive old gits like me and everything in between. Not tried the food, but as far as one can tell from watching others it seems to be well received.

Full range of timothy taylor ales. Food of a high standard but priced accordingly! Full table service from arrival. well worth a visit

We came across this wonderful little inn and fell in love with it. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after by the staff, the rooms were very modern and chic, the bedding was better than any 5* we have ever stayed at. The food in the evening was clearly freshly made, and very tasty, more like restaurant food. It has a very pretty beer garden and even its own car park. All in all we enjoyed immensely and will be back!
|
Good pub. Always has a few real ales on. Pretty decent food as well. Definitely worth a visit!
|
I STAYED THERE RECENTLY AND THE ROOM AND BEER WERE TOP NOTCH....
HOWEVER,THE BREAKFAST SERVICE IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE.....!
|
Why is this pub not in the Good Beer Guide ? Visited it for the first time on Saturday afternoon. Its proximity to the open market meant the pub was very busy. Good service and the best pints of Ram Tam I have ever tasted.
|
Good atmosphere, good for a pint (or two) any day, the dark Mild is delicious. Definitely not the priciest pint of Landlord!

Had a good pint of Landlord passing through. Front bar lovely, good beer, leather tub chairs, newspapers. young'uns play pool at the back, so dont let them put you off. definitely worth a visit on market day (wed)

Stayed at the Woolly Sheep a few weeks ago, (just overnight) Wonderful food in the evening, first class full English breakfast & very well kept real ale. The bed in the premium room was also really comfy. Staff were great at what they do.
|

Not the best place to buy TT beer
|
A Timothy Taylor's showcase pub, but perhaps the most expensive pint of Landlord in all of Christendom!
|
A pleasant place though the TT isn't always up to the standards of the surroundings.
|
Good selection of real ales. As close as you can get to a Bigg market pub in terms of women dressed up on a saturday night.
|
Excellent pub in the centre of town offering most of the Timmy Taylors range of real ales, food looks good as well
