Under recent new ownership the main bar has had a spruce up. Doombar, London Pride and Courage on tap plus a decent pint of Guinness. Food is excellent clearly all cooked from fresh and good home cooking. Really nice pub to go for a meal or just a drink.

I've always found this a friendly pub with good beer and food. Can't see any justification for the negative comments.

I have been to this pub a couple of times now (Friday lunchtime) and on both occassions I have enjoyed good beer and food that was excellent value for money. Very good service from freindly competant staff, all enjoyed in comfortable surroundings.

Fairly average pub - couple ales on the go (Pride and GK IPA, the IPA was good enough).

Decent enough inside, didn't seem particularly run-down to me. Could be homely with a couple of mates in on the beer.

Menu looked pretty expensive to my eyes, I hope the chef is good, he'll need to be for me to pay that much outside a restaurant!

Could take it or leave it, really. There's a lot worse.

Amazing how people pathetically and cowardly hide behind "handles" or submit posts as "anonymous" and then submit total rubbish. Very immature and childish. The Four Horseshoes is a truely great little village pub and the proprietor and her staff are the most friendliest you will find. The food is great, the hospitality is great and there is always a lovely atmosphere in the pub. All credit to everyone at the Fourshoes. Most civilised people know how difficult it is to run a pub these days due to the greed of the government and the breweries. Keep up the good work all Landlords/Landladies and especially those at the Four Horseshoes.

We have found this pub to be quite rundown and full of unfriendly people. Despite this being our closest pub, we travel further to go to others!

What this pub really needs is a landlord/landlady that knows how to look after their customers and run a pub. Not on my list to ever revisit

went there for a skittles night with work mates,...

I'm 6 foot and the ceiling must have been 6foot 1inch,..

Staff were friendly, although the place looked very run down inside and the food was not great, was starving when I left,.....

Won't go in there again in a hurry

Not sure what they do with the bitter, but kept me on the toilet for a good 24 hours. The locals were unfriendly would not recomend to others

Lovely, quaint looking country village pub. Popped in to test the real ales and check out the company whilst viewing houses to live in the area. Was very busy, which must say something, bar staff friendly enough and beer reasonably priced and good condition. Chips out of a bag (not real chips) but v.generous with the mayo! Unfortunately, very rude and unfriendly locals at the bar made comments under their breath towards us making us feel unwelcome - will be sticking the The White Hart in future, shame.

sorry- eat in the bar when the smoking ban comes into effect!

Nice pub, great food and bar staff really friendly The regulars seem really nice and very chatty. The only downside was the smoking, the non smoking restaurant was in need of a lick of paint etc. So we sat in the pub to eat as it was a lot nicer. We had to contend with a lot of smoke but this was our choice!

Its a real old english country pub, full fo charm and enchatment. Great beer and reasonable priced espcecially compared to the white hart.

Will go again and at in the bat when the new smoking law comes into effect!

Lovely, friendly village pub. Tasty 'pub grub' with a variety of home made specials (all delicious!) Good ales and beers and the bonus of a pool table AND skittle alley! Have spent a few evenings there and been made to feel very welcome and had an enjoyable time.

Friendly welcome to this traditional establishment. Not in the finest condition, but a decent pub regardless.
