Visited last night for some food. Lovely atmosphere and busy yet not overcrowded. Five ales available and the pint of Discovery and HSB that I had were excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming. Good choice of food and excellent quality. Sizzling king prawn starter was delicious and my chicken breast stuffed with applewood cheese wrapped in Parma Ham was FANTASTIC! Girlfriend's curry was delicious too. Too full to experience the puddings but will definitely be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this pub.

A real warm and welcoming atmosphere greets you as soon as you walk in. A real pub as it should be. Thatched, wood burner, good range of fresh cooked food with Fullers beers and guest ales kept in perfect condition by their Master Cellarman. No wonder Fullers awarded the Woodman Arms as their country pub of the year ! Remember to look out on the entertainment evenings for the local Blacksmith - Arthur of Arundel who is hoping to emulate Wagner in next years X Factor !!

Big pub, nice food. Lovely landlord. Great Rose. Could do with some local ales. x TFA

A pretty good place, with some good and well-kept beers. It is a little pricey, though. But then I suppose that goes wit hthe area.

Been here several times and love it. After the fire it has been re-built to an excellent standard and the atmosphere, staff and food are truly excellent. It is a compact, cosy little place and generally packed with lovely outside areas for drinking and eating in the summer. Food is really good and has a fair selection of ales, not that I am an expert in that area, Im a bit of a larger lout. Every time I have been recently the staff have been busy but have been up for a laugh and added well to the atmosphere. There IS a down-side actually two: 1. The road noise outside. Move the road! 2. The amount of money I spent last time. (Not serious). Spent a lot because it was good.

I agree, this is not a country pub.
The beer is always in good shape and they have a nice selection of real ales. The food is nice too.
Definately more of a restaurant than a pub, although not so much in the Summer when you can sit outside :)
2 a pint on saturday afternoon/early evening :D :D

More a restaurant than a pub but the London Pride was good. The food is good too a range of different meals and really helpful waitresses. But not a country pub at all.

We visited this beatiful country cottage style pub, it was newly refurbished due to the fire which I thought they did a wonderful job. With a oldy world pub look yet modern & very welcoming. There was a great atmosphere & the food was terrific. Although they were fully booked, the owners went out of there way to make you feel welcome. Over all 10/10

Visited recently for a soup lunch, homemade mushroom and it was first class - though a tad pricey at a little over 4 each. The garden is now developing well - including the commemorative cherry tree - and the car park is greatly improved. Only criticism, awful (narrow) access from the A27 but will visit again 8/10

They have done a fair job in reconstructing this pub after the fire. We had a lovely meal but the atmosphere just wasnt there for us. The staff could be a little friendlier and the landlord could make more of an effort but the chefs more than made up for the lack of service!

OH what have you done to this once fantastic local pub,yes i know you were raised to the ground in a fire, but if false beams, green Basie, and lots of plastic, and thats from the smiles of the staff are all you could manage then, perhaps you should of laid this old pub to rest, along with the old photos and warmth that is now so obviously missing from its tacky interior now.

Since reopening after a disastrous fire, the Woodman Arms has regained its reputation for pretty good food and dented crania, due to the low beams. Fine. It just doesn't feel very pubby to me.
