Visited last night for some food. Lovely atmosphere and busy yet not overcrowded. Five ales available and the pint of Discovery and HSB that I had were excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming. Good choice of food and excellent quality. Sizzling king prawn starter was delicious and my chicken breast stuffed with applewood cheese wrapped in Parma Ham was FANTASTIC! Girlfriend's curry was delicious too. Too full to experience the puddings but will definitely be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this pub. chunkypetersplat - 18 Jun 2011 08:41 |
A real warm and welcoming atmosphere greets you as soon as you walk in. A real pub as it should be. Thatched, wood burner, good range of fresh cooked food with Fullers beers and guest ales kept in perfect condition by their Master Cellarman. No wonder Fullers awarded the Woodman Arms as their country pub of the year ! Remember to look out on the entertainment evenings for the local Blacksmith - Arthur of Arundel who is hoping to emulate Wagner in next years X Factor !! olivia1289 - 29 Dec 2010 14:02 |
Big pub, nice food. Lovely landlord. Great Rose. Could do with some local ales. x TFA nutbar - 24 Nov 2010 17:35 |
A pretty good place, with some good and well-kept beers. It is a little pricey, though. But then I suppose that goes wit hthe area. HenPen - 4 Aug 2010 08:09 |
Been here several times and love it. After the fire it has been re-built to an excellent standard and the atmosphere, staff and food are truly excellent. It is a compact, cosy little place and generally packed with lovely outside areas for drinking and eating in the summer. Food is really good and has a fair selection of ales, not that I am an expert in that area, Im a bit of a larger lout. Every time I have been recently the staff have been busy but have been up for a laugh and added well to the atmosphere. There IS a down-side actually two: 1. The road noise outside. Move the road! 2. The amount of money I spent last time. (Not serious). Spent a lot because it was good. Bad Bunny BadBunney - 19 Feb 2010 02:41 |
