has a sign outside suggesting they are trying to reopen it as a pub - no idea who would take this on though, needs loads of work..

used 2 b a wkd pub bout 5 yrs ago but wen the owners left it went strate downhill n aint recoverd since!

Personally, those 'good reports' I'd heard previously about the George were either old news, or just totally false! The choice of beers & lagers recently was very limited. Staff, although polite enough, looked like customers who were just helping out behind the bar... did not portray a 'well-run' establishment..! I would not risk a meal there myself, but my dog might disagree there..!!! 2/10

I do agree they have done this pub up nice but that doesn't change a pubs reputation! I did (and still do) hear bad things about what goes on in the pub but thought i would give it a go for myself and regretably they seemed to be true. I will let you use your imagination as to what. I also found that it closed at odd times. Sometimes I would pop in for a pint after work (about 10) and it would be shut! The same in the afternoons. Judge it for yourselves but I think you could find better!

Well I have been in the pub twice, and I was impressed. We took the dog and she loved it also. Good service, and cheerful stff.

This pub has a different landlord every week! No consistancy at all. But what concerns me more is what goes on in the toilets!!! Doesn't have a good reputation as far as ive heard but each to their own! Check it out for yourself! Looks ok from the outside but i won't be going there again.

Nice to see this pub back to it's best! it has been saddly neglected for the last few years/landlords. But due to the new landlord and refit it now has atmosphere, for the first time since the bad ol' days of 'Blinkers' If anyone else is old enough to remember that!

Now that this place does a good lunch time menu it really is like the good old days...fair play to the new owners,they've done a grande job
