Rain curtailed our walk around Denford and darkness was closing in at 4 o`clock. The Cock was busy with boisterous locals . The fire was roaring away in the fireplace, but it was too loud for our son, and we went into the lounge, which was tastefully furnished, and just off the lounge , was a cheese-skittles table!!. There were three beers on tap, Tribute, something from Birmingham which I had n`t heard of, and probably the best pint of Phipps IPA I`ve ever had. Will defo come back.

New owners took over in June, great food all cooked fresh, had to wait a while but definately worth it

We visited the village pub a few weeks ago for a meal with our family and enjoyed the friendly service and overall atmosphere. During the meal we noticed several glasses of wine being taking into what i presume is the kitchen. I've never know a cheif to drink whilst cooking meals and feel quite disapointed to find that various friends who have eatten there have seen the same thing.

The public house at Denford has just reinstated its traditional name 'The Cock Inn' following a change in tenancy in June 2008. It continues to receive positive reviews re: quality of the real ales/good homely food and the atmosphere is warm and friendly - a return to its past glory days.

It is extraordinary how quickly this pub has been ruined. It took the new owners less than a week to remove the real ales and to stop offering good food. This pub is the current CAMRA Pub of the Year for Northamptonshire but that was under the previous owners so don't be fooled. I understand it's now being removed from their website and the Good Beer Guide. These days you're lucky if they have any beer in stock. On Monday there was just one bitter! If you don't like pubs it's ideal. No beer - no customers!

Such a shame a lovely local pub has been overtaken by a company only interested in the bottom line figure. The menu was unimaginative and limited. The trad ales followed the same lines and again were unimaginative and boring. I could get those trad ales from anywhere. no spark of life!!!

Nice friendly country pub in a nice village. Good range of beers. Food was excellent and service was really friendly. The pub looks nice from outside and has a nice atmosphere. Inside there is the bar to the right and the restaurant to the left. Pity it hasn't got a garden although there are some tables out the front.
