The Cuckoo, Peterborough

We arived at the Cuckoo to find 2 (very average) beers and a christmas special Santa's Tiple. My partner tried the special and had to leave most of it. It was cloady and tasted as though it was old. The bar staff had no manners and didnt smile once!
Not feeling too hungry, we opted for the meze platter for two. Half an hour later we were given a plate with four halves of bread, no smoked salmon, no king prawns (instead we recieved frozen, watery ones) and extremely disapointing chicken liver pate. As we had no cutlery we called over to a waitress who looked at us and walk off.

We have eatten at the Cuckoo several times and this has been the most disapointing. We will definatly not be eatting there again.

The Cock Inn, Denford

We visited the village pub a few weeks ago for a meal with our family and enjoyed the friendly service and overall atmosphere. During the meal we noticed several glasses of wine being taking into what i presume is the kitchen. I've never know a cheif to drink whilst cooking meals and feel quite disapointed to find that various friends who have eatten there have seen the same thing.
