A cozy little place, very pleasant bar staff and serves real ale.
Has various entertainments on quite often.
Good ambience and worth a call, I'd say.

A small pub that got very busy on the Saturday night we were in there.
Two real ale on offer, I drank the "crop circle which was very good.
Open until around 2 am but to guarantee getting served you ned to get in before 1230 am.
Popular with locals and students, which creates a good atmosphere.
Prompt and efficient bar staff.

Popped in for a couple of pints recently. Must have been the only pub in Oxford that wasn't showing the royal bloody wedding so I warmed to it straight away. Guiness was excellent, friendly staff. All in all seemed a cozy, cracking little pub. Would like to go when there's some music on.

The Half Moon is a small, friendly and pleasantly ecclectically decorated pub. They regularly have folk music sessions and there's a piano in one corner of the bar. It is a busy, city centre pub, so expect a lot of students some nights.

The Worst Pub in Oxford
I would avoid this pub at all cost. The bar staff are extremely rude and aggressive with customers. I had a terrible night there, the staff were extremely rude and the atmosphere was awful. Lots of swearing and arguments amongst bar staff. Very small, hardly any seats and very dirty. Glasses were not washed properly and had lipstick staines on them . In my opinion one of the worst pubs in Oxford and I will never be going back.

poetry on a thursday night is well worth a visit. pretty laid back opening hours (both opening and closing). lots of cheesey irish tunes to curdle the guinness on the juke box but if it's unpretentious joviality your after you cant find a better pub for miles.

Chaotic, glorious pub that doesn't close.

The best pub in Oxford. Best Irish landlord, greatest music and poetry, company stimulating, surprising - Beer well tasty - small pub with greatest vote!

Legendary for live poetry and music (and probably for the fact that closing time drifts by quietly). Often standing room only, and very smoky, but wonderfully characterful 'Irish' pub with friendly atmosphere.
