Overall pretty good... Food and beer was excellant; sampled a few pints of a beer called einstein (lymestone brewery 5%) that was really good. We ate in the old assembly room part of the pub which was nice. One comment though; the barmaid did have an argument with her boyfriend (ex?) whilst serving me...

When it comes to customer care i dont think this pub really quite have it, wilst having a family meal with my friends I witnesed the managers rudeness to several customers aswell as staff. And although the meals are inexpensive there is still a level of customer care expected. we shall not be returning.

This pub is everything one should expects from a Wetherspoons house !!! It is clean & tidy with staff that seems to be ran off their feet everytime I have visited(mostly weekends). There is always ample staff behind the bar but that does not mean that there is often not a lenghty wait to get served due to the amount of people wanting to get served. There are lots of seating / tables both upstairs & down but again they are often being used due to the amount of people wanting to use them. Many groups of people choose to stand around the bar area which proves difficult to negotiate with your hands full. The smoking ban helps this situation slightly when smokers use the outside courtyard. There is a family eating area which I have never used so I can not comment on.I have eaten in the pub once & we found the food of an higher quality than we had expected & at a price lower than most. And hey Wetherspoons keep putting booklets thru our mail box containing vouchers to be cut out and get even more discount off already low prices. So over all The Saracens head is a busy town pub with lower prices. That others in the town have had to try & match to compete.

I wouldn't waste you're time with this one. The management & staff are often very rude and their sole purpose seems to be discouraging customers. The tables are often left filthy and not cleaned up - presumably to further put punters off. Service is dreadful. Opening hours often down to how the bothered the management and staff are. Beer cheap i suppose. I too wrote to Wetherspoon and received no response!

I have already emailed my complaint to Wetherspoons and have not had the courtesy of a reply. I was sold a glass of wine which was 1/4 of an inch below the measure line. When I complained to the manager (my husband brought the drink to my table when I noticed it. I had not drunk from the glass) the manager argued with me that the glass had been filled to the measure. He continued to argue with me even when I insisted that this was the case. I feel that this was an inappropriate response and certainly a dishonest one. This man could not be sure of his case, especially as he forgot what we had ordered and yet stated categorically that the glass was filled to the measure. I don't think so! So not only was I short changed, it was inferred that I was telling lies and then, when I made a complaint it was ignored. Very professional treatment don't you think?
