The Horseshoe looks like a lovely building from the outside. The interior feels more like a restaurant than a pub and it specialises in pizzas, cooked from an oven at the rear of the single room. Wye Valley HPA & Butty Bach are the 2 ales. Service wasn't particularly attentive or friendly. Stocking the fridge with bottles appeared to be more of a priority. Looks to have great potential from the outside. But doesn't quite live up to it inside. There are better pubs in the town.

Been going there for years and seen it through a few ups and downs. It's currently on the way up with a couple of exceptions. Seems to function mainly as a pizza house with a few additional items on the menu but in my experience the thin crust pizzas are exceptionally good. It works fairly well as a pub however the bar creates a bit of a bottleneck and if the tables are full and there are a few of you enjoying a beer then you end up jumping around like a Morris Dancer to let people past. The beer is generally excellent (Butty Bach on my last visit) with the normal Lagers. The Landlady is always very friendly and helpful and there is a tall girl who works at lunchtimes who is really efficient and smiley however a couple of the male evening staff have a bit of an attitude and kind of spoil the experience. overall a good little pub for a beer in the evening but just watch the steps on the way out!

Recommended by the butcher next door, visited late last year. Meal simple but v.good. Good service, good food, reasonable prices. The butcher was right and i'll definitely re-visit.

I had some good ale her last weekend and a good welcome from the Landlady.

I think we caught them on an off day...very quiet. Surprised to get a Stowfords in a carling glass as was the gin and tonics! Ice and a slice would have been nice!

Returned to Ledbury after 5 years away. The Shoe was good before and if anything, the beer is better now. Only little thing I could moan about is the fact that the glass is never full, but that seems to be a Hereford thing as none of the pubs fill a pint.

A good start to our train based pub crawl. Wye Valley and TT on offer and both well kept.
There did appear to be a bias towards locals but hey ho!

Revisited this pub lately, had to wait nearly 10 mins to be served as barmaid on mobile phone, cask beers not that good will not be coming back, staff no interested in custmers or beer the sell, good pub gone bad.

Good beer and friendly service. Excellent pint of Landlord. Very nice beer garden at the back. Menu is a bit basic - gammon, steak, lasagne etc but my gammon was good with delicious home made onion rings. Unfortunately my girlfriends baked potato was really dry.

A very satisfactory pub on all counts.

Has recently undergone a management change. While I still don't see anything Olde Worlde about the Shoe, it is fair to say that with the new decking and beer change it is much improved. Voted 7
