Its Closed down yet again for another refurbishment. with a bit of luck they might just turn it back into a decent a Pub selling Real Ale. I would like too see a company Like Wetherspoons buy it refurbish it like it original was. This area in need of a good traditional Pub.

Schizophrenic place this. Was quite a nice boozer called The Green Man, then it got totally gutted and turned into a restaurant which was always empty, then they put a club at the back, then changed the front into a bar, now it's a restaurant again..... and I've still not seen anyone in there!
|
This place is now called 'Bouzoukia on the Hill' and it is a Greek Restaurant.
|
Use to use this palce when it was the Green man, it was ok then. Shame
|
This place is really dreadful, it occupies a prime spot in Muswell Hill and after several incarnations seems to have turned back into a restaurant, albeit with cheap plastic table cloths and the kind of furniture you get at a badly catered low budget wedding.
I checked out the menu though and believe me there's nothing low budget about the prices. I'd swerve this place and wait until they go out of business and hopefully get taken over by someone who knows what they're doing.

I had a look through the window last Friday afternoon as obviously it was closed again and there are still no opening times displayed anywhere. One difference that I did noticed was that all of the tables are now covered with white table cloths so it looks like it has actually turned into a restaurant.

A Terrible over Priced restaurant thats not even pretending to be a Pub. No decent Ales on tap when I went in just Keg & fizzy water. Now I Know why it was always empty whenever Ive Passed by.
|
Is this the big place on the left if you go down the hill ? If so I heard it was shit. Not been there mind.
|
At least if you take notice of the Archant Food And Drink awards you'll know the places to avoid.
|
Totally agree with Strongers - what the hell is going on with this place? It seems to open and close at will with no regular opening hours.
I don't know why anyone go out of their way to drink there, but it'd be pretty annoying to travel to this place just to find out that the landlord can't be bothered to open up.
Maybe they're short staffed, but you're never going to get locals or regulars if you change opening hours as often as the weather.

Is this place a pub or not?
Went there at 18:30 yesterday for the 3rd time and it was closed. It would probably be helpful if there were some kind of sign with opening times on it if it doesnt open and close at the conventional pub times.

Winner of Best Nightclub in North London at the Archant Food & Drink awards. Worth a look

What a bad night. Full of rich stuck up kids who have very rich parents to give them money. Dress code is just stupid one week its smart casual next time they probably wouldnt let you in with a suit. no smart trainers, timberlands ect ect. Not a london club just a small dingey bar in muswell hill. And 12 if you are not on the guestlist. So many nice pubs in the area so stay well away from here. Enigma was so much better. Please bring it back Deano

All the earlier reviews are referring to the previous incarnation The Green Man and Enigma nightclub. This is now an entirely new premises and concept. The pub is now a Fine dining restaurant with great food and unbelievably friendly, helpfull staff. I have been there now on a number of occasions and each time has been a great experience. Even more good news is they now are serving Leffe, so I am very happy.
The club again has completely changed, the previous ones on site such as Enigma had a terrible reputation. Again The Hill has completely revamped the image. It is a very, very cool place. Plasma screens; leather sofas; cool music; great staff. The bar opens early evening every day and has a great range of beer and spirits. They are also now showing all the live football. I've been living in the area for over 5 years and have been longing for an alternative to the rowdy pubs to watch the football. Every sunday I'm now sitting in my own leather sofa, with a few mates, drinking a Leffe, eating an amazing Sunday Roast and watching the match. Bliss!

This pub is now a restaurant.
|
It's having a major refurbishment at the momment (April 2005) Might be worth checking out when completed.
|
Cleaned up a bit recently with a refurb - still resmbles a youth club most of the time however...
|
Really, really horrible! ignorant staff, drunk kids with attitude everywhere & the place had a nasty dirty feel about it....loads of nice pubs in muswell hill, so dont waste any time going here!

Ignore the slightly trendy looking decor: they've got good lagers on tap and a good indie/rock ('n' roll) juke, poll tables and live music nights. Prices are reasonable and the staff are lovely. It's just a shame that you never see the same faces in there from one night to the next...

My first 5 minutes inside there and there was a fight between 2 kids, someone was being sick in the toilet and the staff ignored me... I had to cross the road to the village...

Its wicked at the weekend - a real surprise. It used to be a dingy old place, its decked out nice and there is dj's playing some top indie and rock tunes with some stuff goin on the screen. It's gotta be the best place in mus hill now, just wish it was like this when i was a kid

proper towny feel, like being in Rickmansworth or any number of other rubbish towns in the UK. Full of nasty children. Dingey.
