Claims to have the longest continuous bar in Britain, and still retains a faintly Victorian atmosphere. Also seems to be a favourite of locals smoking foul-smelling roll-ups, but I don't want to appear harsh - it's fine enough for a pint or two...

The Old Coffee House, Soho

Despite being slap bang in the middle of Soho, this pub can sometimes get overlooked. Not all the time, but sometimes, even on a Friday night, it just seems to get passing trade, with no real sense of filling up. That, of course, is a good thing - and this old-fashioned boozer will reward you popping in. The walls are full of pictures, the staff are prompt, and the Guinness is good. Quality...
