The 'public' bar half hasn't really changed much. The one handpump was unused on this visit. Went for a pint of Moretti (£4.50 a pint). The 'lounge' half had tables all set up for 'dining'. Plenty of screens showing the football.

This is a two bar Irish pub - clientele wearing Celtic shirts etc. We drank in the comfortable and quieter lounge bar, the public bar being much busier and noisier. Only one reale was available - Doom Bar. It was a pretty sour and rank pint, made drinkable only by the fact that it had been chilled to such an extent that the taste was disguised. However, nothing could disguise the smell. If you want a decent pint of real le go up the hill into Barnet.

Last time I visited(about 1 year ago) I ended up talking to a lady at the bar about deadly cobras in Africa ! Certainly has a lot of character, and found the serving staff entertaining as well. Trouble is, the pub is a bit small, and so it's hard to avoid certain people, like you can in other bigger places.

This pub has gone down in our estimations quite a lot of late!

Occupying a corner plot on a row of shops this place has more of a pub feel than your average similar Irish bar. They had Courage Best on handpull but didn't risk it as no one else was drinking it. Friendly enough locals and staff Fairly handy for Barnet FC.

My mum, dad, fiancee and myself all go to this pub now and then. We are all from Whetstone. The pub has a great atmosphere, the staff and managers are all lovely. We were there last St Paddys day and it was brilliant. The thai food is gorgeous. There is never any trouble there. We have been going there for a very long time, and know the well established managers. We have met quite a few other irish people there.

The hospitality at this place is second to none, from the cheery Irish barmaid to the friendly regulars, I would certainly recommend this to anyone visiting the area, and the Guiness is excellent.

Serves a rather peculiar combination of English and Thai, but it seems to work and certainly our food went down well and everyone in the party enjoyed themselves.

of beers, wines and spirits, with thai and english food on the menu every day
and, whilst the accomadation available is not five star it is clean ,comfortable
and quiete, Irish hospitality at its very best

I recently celebrated my 40th birthday with a party in weavers. I have to say everyone had a great time and all my friends are still posting the photos on facebook :) Weavers was a perfect choice for my party(if I do say so myself)! The wine bar area was set up just for us, although there were many people in party mood throughout the bar that evening so we all got mixed up in the party anyway. The weavers chef prepared a scrumptous buffet...plenty was had by all....
I would highly recommend this bar for anyone considering having a good party...or for a rocking night out with friends.
(I also have to disagree with the comment above about the "regulars" as all the people we met that evening (and subsequent evenings after) were very friendly and made us feel quite at home!)
Thank you Weavers for a great night out...be seeing you all soon !!

I had a few beers in here on Saturday night and found it to be OK, but nothing special. The staff were friendly enough and there was a large selection of lager available alongside Courage Best.

The pub is split into two bars, one of which was empty and the other was very busy. There is also some covered seating outside the front of the pub on the main road.

I found the vast majority of patrons to be extremely welcoming although one guy in his 50s was a bit of a prick. The live band was ok, although not my cup of tea.

I wouldnt go out of my way to go here again, but it is better than the Queens Arms across the road.

reiterating what others have said. Its a jekyll and hyde pub. One side (alas unpatronised) is almost your trendy wine bar and looks lovely the other is like a jd wetherspoon with like clientele. It looks great from the outside but on the 9 occasions i have been in i have always asked why i bothered afterwards. Its naff, its populated by it appears the locals from Mays Lane rather than the better side of the tracks

Was in this pub last week, shame about the customers, talk about rough the lady behind the bar was good, service was good, shame she is working in there, when there are better pubs to work in, They have recently opened the new bar next door, waste of money as no one was in there,

This is one of those pubs that has put the effort in, in terms of appearance, entertainment, service and food but which is tragically hampered by the people that drink in there.
Had a couple of pints here recently and a decent meal from the Sunday carvery (a little over-priced at 8.95 in fairness, but tasty nonetheless). Beer was good and fresh and priced on a par with most boozers in this area. The furniture was comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. The screens showing the football were well places and all had good views and they were showing as many games as possible to appeal to all comers. Could have been a near perfect Sunday afternoon experience, but the whole thing was marred by the proliferation of lairy "geezers" shouting the odds at each other over the distance of the pub and indulging in some frankly pathetic macho posturing. Football mood was poisonous and highly charged rather than being just a bit of harmless banter.
Shame. The owners and staff deserve far better than this in return for their efforts.
Would drink here again but only when it was quiet.
