please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Had high hopes of this place during my first visit to Glasgow, after reading other reviews, but upon entering, sadly discovered that this bar had no real ale, so didn't stay. The barman helpfully recommended the Bon Accord, which looks good from reviews but I was unable to visit due to time constraints.

Blackboard caught my eye on my way to Queen Street Station. Late morning bacon roll and coffee. Great interior, great staff, great prices! I will certainly use again and I highly recommend this place as opposed to the 'high street names' that could be anywhere in the UK - or further! Well done.

Great little pub, perfectly situated down an alley just off Buchanan Street. I have been here quite a few times now and have never been disappointed. Staff are always very friendly and helpful, background music is excellent (and played at just the right level), and the food is very good. This is a great place to meet for pre-gig drinks, or if you just fancy a quiet afternoon chilling with your mates. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, and as dontbuffmypylon states, there is no pretentiousness at all. Definitely one place that I would recommend to everyone. There is also outside seating for the smokers, or anyone who wants a bit of fresh air. The best pub I've been to in Scotland so far.

Easily my favourite pub in Glasgow - a hidden away gem from the hustle and bustle, good selection of beers and spirits, very good food, my favourite thing about The Lab is the crowd of people who go, it's not your typical pretentious "hey look at me" Glasgow kind of crowd, nor is it filled with clubbers going for a pre club drink, instead it's usually a crowd of people from late 20s to mid 50s, who are out to enjoy a nice drink away from it all, the music in the background isn't loud either so you can have a decent conversation without shouting.
The test-tube cocktails are always worth trying out every now and again too.
Very friendly bar staff who always speak to you even when you haven't been there in a while.
Recently been refurbished and a good job they have made of it too.

A great bar with a really good atmosphere. Suitable for anyone. The only down side is the average food.

A very pleasant little bar, tucked out of the way down a side alley. Good atmosphere, attentive staff, and a mixed bag for the clientele. No hand-pumps on the bar was a minus point for me but that almost didn't matter this time.

Nice little pub, just out of the way of the madness, great place to sit outside for a few beers.

Right in the heart of the city, but still off the beaten track. Great food, great atmosphere, fantastic staff, quality beer & wine at reasonable prices. All that and a beer garden too. Possibly Glasgow's best kept secret, shh... don't tell too many of your friends it's only little ;)
