I went to this pub last August when my girlfriend was working down in Suffolk at the British Larder (which too is very good). The thing that will get me back is the promise of fantastic Adnams beer, a great atmosphere and hearty food. I'm not sure the history of the pub but its certainly a crooked old building with oodles of character. The next time I get a few days together I'm getting across (from West Herts) to this place. Love it.

We went here on 22/09/10 in the evening. The friendly barman served us a very nice pint of Adnams Explorer and Adnams bitter plus a nice half of the Broadside later on.The bar had a good mix of drinkers and a few diners in the other room. The outdoor seating overlooks the town square which is where we sat and enjoyed our drinks.A pint of Explorer,Adnams bitter and two packs of nuts cost 7.50.

An Adnams pub with a full range of Adnams beers - except Old Ale ?
Busy for Saturday afternoon, with a good atmosphere. Lovely old building, wooden beams & open fire and an extensive menu for those wishing to eat. You people in Woodbridge are truely spoilt !!

An absolutely stereotypical 'first and only' post, Michel. Brilliant, though so over the top, even for a post of its type, it's hilarious. Are you the landlord? Or just a joker?

What an excellent pub, the Beer is almost perfectly stored and delivered by well trained and enthusiastic staff full of Suffolk cheer. The landlord is welcoming to most and clearly defiant to accept those that are not in keeping with proper standards expected at such an establishment. Talking to some bar champions I learnt that the Kings head is known for its quality of beverage and food topped only by location, warm cheer and a traditional spirit. Long live the Kings Head !

Always worth a look when in Woodbridge. The new staff are friendly and the beer as well kept as always! A cracking pub....

Easily one of the busiest pubs in Woodbridge, Friday and Saturday nights can be a bit hectic, get there early if you want to sit down! During the rest of the week tables can usually be found. The pub has a good selection of beers and lagers. The beers on tap are all Adnams beers, with Broadside, Regatta and Bitter usually being the ones on sale Others are added from time to time, such as Adnams Tally Ho, which added over the Christmas period. The usual lagers can be found as well.

If you want to be stared at as soon as you walk through the door by locals this is not the pub for you!! Staff arent all on Zimmer frames which makes for good service when the pub gets busy and I am sure they have to scrub a lot more than most pubs in Woodbridge as they are the busiest in town.

Got a new landlord. Landlord not often seen except at weekends. Pub run by youngsters and now lacks atmosphere for a 'local'. OK if you like noisy heaving bars at the weekend. Not for me. Also could do with a good clean. New landlord not as keen on cleanliness as the old one.

The Kings Head now has a new landlord who can smile!

It certainly has the potential to be a good pub. The landlord has been 'on his way out' for ages but apparently he now leaves in January.
Hopefully the Kings Head will then turn the corner.

Not the best pub in town, but it should be. The landlord is unwelcoming, the food disappointing and expensive, and the pub is filthy. Rumour has it that the landlord may be on his way out. I will return when he goes...

This pub is simply superb. Visit it if you are ever in Woodbridge, it is the best pub in the town by a long way. I suggest either enjoy an early evening beer in front of the huge log fire in the winter or go for a meal in the Barrack dining room. & no, they haven't paid me to say this! It really is very good.

In reference to the daniel's comments. I am a londoner (Isle of Dog's) and I can t get a I cannot buy seven pints of anything for 17 in London but can in the Cherry Tree and Kings Head. Random small town? like to know where you come form that you feel you have the authority to call Woodbridge a random small town. Dont know what your sulking about but get over it.
Woodbridge is as fine an example of a English town as you can home to find..steeped in history

Very good . Huge fire-place. Random small town, but if you ever happen to go there, go here, and avoid the ridiculously over-priced (this is even a Londoner talking here) Cherry Tree Inn .
