Beer range now TT Golden Best, Landlord and Black Sheep Ale now bitter replaces the Flowers. Presumably the ale was too strong for people driving. Guest Ale always interesting , often local from Bridestones. Little Valley, Pictish. Landlord and Guest ales 3.10. Steep but always spot on.

Went last night. Salmon and smoked haddock pie on the specials board was to die for. Always enjoy my meal and the friendly atmosphere. Have tried other pubs but always end up back at the Brink. Strongly recommend a visit, I have not found anywhere as good.

Large and spacious, pleasant interior with a fair bit of the usual useless country pub bric a brac decoration but it seems to work nonetheless. Efficient, polite and pleasant staff. Good well prepared meals with generous portions for reasonable prices. Locals and youth hostellers from nearby Mankinholes keep the place in the real world. Superb location where cottages with narrow strip windows and hunky stonework were built to withstand the winters in these scenic hills. Excellent Timothy Taylor ales but insipid Flower's beer was on offer when I visited two days ago with thirty other friends from the youth hostel, all of whom were delighted with their food and beer.

Been in this pub a couple of times over the last 12 months and it's a rela treat. Both occasions the food and service has been excellent. Basic pub food but at good prices and good portions. Ideal ordering service, find a table get the number and order at the kitchen, no asking for a table, no trying to get the waitresses attention. Diners wikth kids seem to have their own area (glad, cos it seemed a bit manic when I went to order). It's in a great location, in the shadow of Stoodley Pike and has tables outside and large car parking areas. Highly recommended.

Large pub with a good situation on the hillside, good range of real ales puts it in the latest Good Beer Guide, popular for food also.

Large hilltop pub with several areas, conservatory, bar area then area to left and long back room with children allowed. The bar area is probably the best place for drinkers, however there are often meals served here also, so the whole pub smells of food. So a big food pub with extensive kitchen and menu, lots of homemade pies and a good value sunday roast 6.65, the food comes out after about 5-10 minutes, always hot and been of good quality on our visits. Great pint of Taylors Landlord but expensive at 2.70 a pint. Other beers ex Whitbread now contracted out Boddies, Flowers Original and a Guest beer. Staff are alright an all.

The quality of the food is quite spasmodic, one day it is great and then next time it is quite mediocre.
We have been going there occasionally for about 8 years and I do feel it is not as good nowadays as it used to be.
It is ok for pub grub.

I had a meal here today and was very disappointed at the quality - the vegetarian "wellington" was no more than a fairly poor quality pasty and the veg was overcooked and the salad tomatoes mushy

Beautiful barmaids / waitresses too

a bit too much out on a limb to go there often, ok for the beer, too much emphasis on the food side for my liking.

I've been there for Sunday lunch - top nosh. Guest beers and a nice atmosphere. A few naff things stuck on the walls, but the amazing views make up for that.

Yep, it's a cracker. But you either drink & drive (DON'T!!) or you hike or bike up there. Phew! Go for it!!

Everyone knows this is the best pub in the area. It is in Lumbutts, perched on the hill just outside an ex-Mill Town called Todmorden in the South Pennines (where I grew up).
The range of beers is excellent, inc guest beers. A no-nonsense, top northern pub. The place is packed, especially on Sunday, attracted by the serious food. Prices very reasonable - plus the views are, of course, excellent. Many fell runs start (and finish here).
