Visited the RH for the first time on Saturday. Id booked a table for 6:00 but probably didnt need to as it wasnt that busy. That doesnt mean its not a good place because we really enjoyed our meal. It seems like a typical Pennine pub that serves grub, not overly large and the dining areas are split into two areas either side. We ate under the arch which is has two small and one large table and was cosier than the other, larger area. It had a traditional menu such as steaks, chilli, casseroles, gammon, pies etc. Does a good selection of beers I had TT Landlord, but noticed Black Sheep as well. Dcor interesting with a gorillas head atop a redcoats uniform, numerous local photos, and the odd curio. Mine host was pleasant and the waiting staff very friendly. Would definitely go again, maybe in summer when it would be nice to take in the views whilst having a beer outside. They also do rooms & near the Pennine Way.

The Stubbing Wharf, Hebden Bridge
I was looking for a pub that did good food at reasonable price for a Sunday afternoon meal for 4 in the Hebden Bridge area and I came across the pub on the net. Not much to look at from either the inside or out but had a nice traditional feel about the place. The menu was what youd expect good pub food (fish n chips, sausage n mash, steak pie, gammon etc, but also had a specials board) but was cooked really well, very tasty and hot !. good portions served with excellent service. Good selection of traditional desserts/puddings. If you want haute cuisine dont go, if you want good beer, good food in a friendly atmosphere then go there. We will definitely go again but may book most tables were reserved but managed to get two courses in within the 1 hour til the next party turned up.

The Top Brink Inn, Lumbutts
Been in this pub a couple of times over the last 12 months and it's a rela treat. Both occasions the food and service has been excellent. Basic pub food but at good prices and good portions. Ideal ordering service, find a table get the number and order at the kitchen, no asking for a table, no trying to get the waitresses attention. Diners wikth kids seem to have their own area (glad, cos it seemed a bit manic when I went to order). It's in a great location, in the shadow of Stoodley Pike and has tables outside and large car parking areas. Highly recommended.
